Overview

You will help Artis develop new generations of sensing, real-time processing, and actuation technologies in a fast paced and exciting environment. As part of a small and dedicated cross-functional team, you will be given immediate responsibility for designing and analyzing complex embedded systems. Typical day to day work is done using IDEs such as Xilinx Vivado for FPGA design, along with analysis tools like MATLAB and Python.

As an FPGA design engineer, you will be expected to develop programmable logic designs from requirements to completion. You will participate in documentation, design reviews, and test activities. You will enjoy working in a cooperative environment with mentors who are invested in your success. Testing occurs at internal Artis facilities and test ranges around the country.

Requirements

  • Self-starter who is willing to take on a variety of tasks, who can adapt and learn new skills quickly in a dynamic work environment
  • Experience with full toolchain FPGA design, from code to simulation to implementation and timing closure
  • Proficient at coding in VHDL or Verilog
  • Experience with C, C++, or similar languages
  • Hands-on bench test and debug abilities using meters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other electronics test equipment

Preferred Experience

  • Direct design experience with Xilinx FPGAs and the Vivado/Vitis environment, especially Ultrascale+ MPSoC and RFSoC devices
  • Programming microprocessors in a bare-metal or RTOS environment
  • Familiarity with Embedded Linux
  • Experience with Matlab or Python for data modeling and analysis
  • Understanding of DSP design methodology
  • Safe software/firmware design techniques

Required Education and Experience

BS/MS ECE, EE, or CS, with 5+ years relevant experience in the embedded software/firmware space.

Work Environment

This position works in an office environment 75% of the time with remaining time spent in lab areas and indoor and outdoor testing areas.

Hybrid Work Policy

In addition to normal work hours flexibility, employee would be eligible to work remotely one day a week.
